I’m a wife, mother of two boys, chronic neutropenic patient, advocate, author, and speaker.
The short version of my story:
In 2005, I was diagnosed with idiopathic neutropenia. Meaning they did not know the cause. I had tested positive with CMV (cytomegalovirus), which could have been the trigger to the decline of neutrophils, but sadly, no one knew for sure. The oncologist told me to go home, rest, and drink plenty of fluids.
After looking up my research, I found that I could survive utilizing a child's dose of Neupogen to live a functional lifestyle. As years passed, I also began to seek out research physicians and naturopathic help. Some things worked and some did not. I would start one treatment, have great results, then later find out my neutrophils would plummet, leaving me back to taking Neupogen.
I have experienced every emotion, thinking I have beaten this, only to realize I have not. I have gotten terrible infections that luckily have been treatable and had to cancel trips, events, and more, as it would have led to my detriment.
But somehow I am still alive, enjoying my life, trying to find a cure. Trying to find a way I no longer have to be on a G-CSF (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor) for the rest of my life.
You are probably here for one of three reasons:
1) You have neutropenia, and you want to help yourself survive and thrive.
2) Someone you care about has neutropenia, and you want to help them.
3) You want to improve your health and reduce your risk of ever developing infections or cancer from a G-SCF
Whatever your reason, you’ve come to the right place!
The information I’m sharing here has helped me to live a long, functional life. And the good news is that these principles are mostly holistic, they don’t just apply to neutropenia. The human body can heal itself, and given the proper nutrients and care, it will, despite what conventional doctors might have told you.
You have options and the power to transform your life and regain your health.
If I did it, you can too.
